After a short break Plaza Park Raceway welcomed back racing competition on Friday April 25th for what was planned to be the first night of a double-header in "The Park". While weather did eventually force the cancellation of Saturday night's program, and temporarily put the USAC Western States Midgets return to Visalia on hold, the Friday action was thick and fast as the regular weekly micro racers took to the track.

Friday night saw Junior Sprints, A-Class, Restricted, Non-Wing Outlaw and Winged Outlaw classes fight it out for bragging rights in the third points race of the year. The midgets did practice on Friday in anticipation of their scheduled racing on Saturday. They will now return on Friday September 12th.

Junior Sprints

Huxcen Roush (pictured above) made it three wins at Plaza Park, and four wins in nine races this season with a very strong showing on Friday night. The Riverdale, CA junior racer set quicktime at 13.888 seconds, went +2 to finish 2nd in his heat, and then led the feature from flag to flag. Samantha Dozier won the single heat race of the night.

A-Class

It was Dalton Parreira (pictured above) getting the job done in A-Class, this was the Hanford pilot's first win of the year. Parreira was in the hunt all night but never a clear favorite until it came time to cash the checks. A front row feature start put Parreira in a prime position and it didn't go to waste. Fellow front-row starter Maverick Myrick dropped to third while Lucas Mauldin stepped in to claim runner-up honors. Jace Thurien set quicktime, eventually finishing 8th on the evening. Kinser Bell, Taylor Whitefield and Jacob Hampton won heat races. Hard charger in the feature went to 10th finishing Dash Duinkerken at +9.

Restricted

Not to be outdone by his younger sibling Huxcen, Mackcen Roush (pictured above) made sure to go home with a big trophy on Friday night as well. For Mackcen, that's now two wins at Plaza Park, and ten top-10's in thirteen starts overall. Not a bad way to start the year. Braxon Vasconcellos was 2nd, Tyce Domingos won a heat race earlier in the night before claiming hard-charger (+4) on the way to finishing 3rd in the feature. The other heat race winner was Aubri Huckleberry. Jace Meyers set quicktime in qualifying at 12.055 seconds.

Non-Wing Outlaw

Mattix Salmon (pictured above) finally broke the bogey on 2025, storming to an emphatic first win of 2025 in Non-Wing Outlaw. Salmon won his heat race and started on the second row with eventual runner-up Caden Sarale. Pole-setter TJ Smith dropped two spots to complete the podium. Heat race wins went to the aforementioned Salmon, Jett Yantis and Cash Lovenburg. Quicktimer Nathan Ward (12.464 sec) had to start the feature from the rear after a heat race disqualification. Ward rallied impressively to salvage a top-10 on the night, going +14 to finish 10th.
