WILLAMETTE SPEEDWAY is a fast little 1/3 mile just outside Lebanon in Oregon’s gorgeous Willamette Valley. A long history of dirt oval racing dates back to 1966 but unfortunately a national touring sprint car series hasn’t visited since 2019 when Brad Sweet won the World of Outlaws feature. The facility is purpose built for wheel to wheel sprint car action, sadly in 2025 410 sprint cars visit just once and 360’s don’t return at all after not being included on the revised SCCT Speedweek.
The crowd at Willamette for the NARC visit was typical Oregon wherever we went with 410’s; absolutely frothing! The result rewarded their enthusiasm when Robbie Price got his career first NARC win. There certainly appears to be a fanbase eager to see more winged sprint car action at the racey little bullring. This year the Wingless Sprint Series are slated for three visits, NW Focus Midgets race twice including the Focus Fall Classic to close out their Summer Challenge Series in September, Ironhead limited sprints have just a single date and micro sprints are scheduled for a handful of races including two nights to close out the season in October.
ROBBIE PRICE
After spending time on the national scene Cobble Hill British Columbia’s Robbie Price returned to a full-time schedule in the north west in 2024. It didn’t take long for the move to pay dividends. When NARC rolled through Willamette in June of 2024 it was Price leading the way to Victory Lane over Dominic Scelzi and Jessie Attard. The popular win was Robbie’s first in NARC competition and broke a winless streak of several seasons for the young Canadian.
