Colton Heath won the opening night of the Marvin Smith Memorial in extrememly convincing fashion on Saturday at Cottage Grove Speedway. Heath started the feature from outside row 2, eventually driving around local hero Tanner Holmes in a blistering move through turns 3 and 4. Heath kept things interesting, running up onto a backmarker on the last lap and allowing Holmes to briefly retake the lead. Heath committed to the bottom and with veteran composure found enough grip to drive back under Holmes and take the victory.
