USAC NATIONAL SPRINT CARS

Butler Bonus on the Line for USAC’s Return to Michigan

USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Cars head to Butler Motor Speedway this Saturday, September 27, for their first Michigan appearance in 12 years — and there’s extra cash on the line.
USAC President and Michigan native Kevin Miller has posted a special “Butler Bonus” to honor the series’ return to his home state. Saturday’s 30-lap feature will pay $6,000 to win, but if a Michigan driver claims victory, that prize doubles to $12,000. The top-three Michigan finishers in the A-Main will also take home $250, $150, and $100.
Michigan names expected include Steve Irwin, Keith Sheffer II, Brian Ruhlman, and Josh Turner. The visit marks USAC’s first trip to Butler since 1990, when Hank Lower grabbed the win, and only the second in series history. Live coverage will be available on FloRacing.

Trey Starks Makes Skagit History: Double Titles, Super Dirt Cup, Summer Nationals, and a Season to Remember

Trey Starks put together a 2025 campaign that will be remembered as one of the finest in Skagit Speedway history. On September 20, the Puyallup, WA driver became just the second racer ever to sweep both the 410 and 360 Sprint Car track championships in the same season, a feat previously achieved only by Randy Ridge in 2000.
Starks clinched the 360 crown on Friday night of Championship Weekend with a decisive A-Main win. One night later, he completed the double by topping the Karmart USA 410 Sprint Car feature and season title. After leading the early laps, Starks was briefly overhauled by Tyler Thompson in traffic, but a Lap 24 restart gave him the drive he needed to reclaim the lead and secure both the race win and his third career 410 championship. The victory was worth $5,500 in payout plus an $11,000 points fund check.

That late-season flourish capped a dominant Skagit year: 10 feature wins split evenly between 410s and 360s, highlighted by a career-best $100,026 payday in the Super Dirt Cup and another crown jewel triumph in the 360 Summer Nationals. In his first 16 starts of 2025, he logged six wins and finished outside the top five only three times.

Though a tougher second half and a challenging stretch with High Limit Racing limited his national results, Starks also earned a prestigious fill-in role with Jason Meyers Racing at the Tuscarora 50, finishing eighth on night one. His résumé now includes dual Skagit championships, the Super Dirt Cup, and the Summer Nationals — cementing his place as one of the Pacific Northwest’s top sprint car drivers. Next, he’ll head to California’s Tulare Thunderbowl Raceway to chase the Trophy Cup.
