North West Focus Midgets - The Mighty Midgets Are Back Bigger Than Ever

NORTH WEST FOCUS MIDGETS have played a pivotal role in solidifying the foundation of local racing in this corner of the country for more than a decade now.

No single open wheel series in the region even comes close to providing the sheer volume or variety of racing available to midget competitors and 2025 is all gas no brakes for the spec racer category.

Mega Schedule On Deck

Thirty five total races at nine different venues make up the dirt schedule (A completely separate 14 race asphalt series runs in tandem). The flexible yet expansive nature of the series allows competitors to pick and choose how much, and where, they want to race, allowing even part-timers to compete for overall honors.

Three individual dirt track championships and the series biggest crown are available in Washington alone. Multiple jaunts through Oregon await, nine nights in all headlined by the challenging prospect of four nights on I-5 with the NARC sprint cars.

New territory will be explored in Oregon with a trip to River City Speedway in St Helens just outside Portland. The popular Summer Challenge Series returns, providing incentive for teams to travel and explore new tracks with ten points races spread across both states from late May to mid-September.

Pay Dirt

Skagit Speedway is probably the closest thing to a spiritual home for the midgets. In 2025 they visit Alger nine times for their track championship but there is something else every racer in the class wants to win at Skagit. Midget Dirt Cup is the top individual race trophy for class competitors and always brings out the best cars and drivers in the region, including a few that blow the cobwebs off just to try and win this event each year.

Another Level

Deming Speedway is a track well suited to the midgets and the recent racing has been edge of your seat stuff. A ten race championship concludes in September at the Mt Baker Athletic two-nighter, last years Saturday feature race at that event turned out to be one of the greatest midget races of all time. Popular series commentator Andrew Kunas will bring back the K-Bucks Classic on May 23rd, for a third straight year the generous pledge will provide cash bonuses to racers including a $500 bonus to win the nights feature.

4 NIGHTS ON i-5 WITH NARC

No matter your budget, if you’re a racer you likely enjoy a challenge. Four straight nights of racing, as far from home as you’ll go, surviving on good-will and what fits in your trailer; it is about as big as the challenge gets for North West Focus Midget racers. It’s salt of the earth stuff with racers trading blows on track and parts in the pits, the only thing that benefits everybody on a trip like that is having every car possible on the track each night and helping out a fellow racer is more than just a nice thing to do, it’s a matter of survival for those who hit the road.

SUMMER CHALLENGE SERIES

Essentially a series within a series, Summer Challenge provides incentive and option for midget racers with different needs or availability to still travel and compete on some scale. Ten races at six different tracks offers up a unique opportunity to chase overall honors at a variety of venues if you’re not set on staying close to home.
