May 10, 2025 - Skagit Speedway - Alger, WA

This Saturday night the coveted 410/360 sprint car double is on the line for the first time in 2025 at Skagit Speedway. A handful of drivers are set to contend for the honor, a tall task that hasn't been achieved in more than 18 months on the Alger high-banks.

Trey Starks was the last driver to do the double, that success came on Championship Night in mid-September of 2023, the only time 410's and 360's appeared on the same program that season. In 2024 the double was up for grabs on three occasions with no single driver able to stake any claim on the record books (Starks did manage to win the 360 and Sportsman features on June 8th).

Starks will again be a favorite to achieve the twin-wins but it's getting harder to pick winners on any given night at Skagit. The Puyallup, WA wheeler won the season opening 410 sprint feature, then ran second to Colby Thornhill in the 360 on week 2. Thornhill has been bad fast in both cars, only misfortune cost the #19 a chance to win in the 410. Whether you're a fan or not, there is no doubt the Enumclaw teenager has become Skagit's most exciting driver.

Despite not having won in a 410 sprint car since July 22, 2023, and a 360 since August 27 of 2022, its hard to look past wily veteran Jason Solwold who always seems to find a way to be in the mix. Jesse Schlotfeldt, Colton Heath and Cam Smith are all past winners likely to take on double-duty. Schlotfeldt hasn't won yet in 2025, but the Arlington, WA based #21 has been quietly hanging around at the front every week, just waiting on an opportunity to arise. Heath won against a small field of 360's at Cottage Grove two weeks ago, hardly a measuring stick for the veteran racer, but a win is a win and Colton has proven time and time again that he is capable of capitalizing on big moments. Cam Smith has struggled to get back to vintage form in recent seasons but the #17 always does a lot with a little. Much like Solwold, veteran poise provides the Mill Creek, WA driver with a shot every single week.

Canadians Robbie Price and Levi Klatt both had wins at Skagit in 2024, in fact Price was victorious in both classes, just on separate nights. Klatt scored a career first 360 victory in his rookie season before going on to turn heads when given an opportunity to spin the wheels on a 410 ride against national level competition. Those results helped land Klatt his first full-time 410 sprint car opportunity in a Fauver Racing backed jet for 2025, equipment that is more than capable of winning.

Based on the first two weeks of competition there are several other drivers who may be taking on the double-duty challenge. Eric Fisher, Mike Brown and Chase Goetz all made starts in both classes. Langley, BC's Brody Ferguson also started both weeks, though the Ferguson team did enter the 360 against the 410's in week 1, making it unlikely that they will be able to do both this week.

Above: Trey Starks, the last driver to complete the 410/360 sprint car double at Skagit, back on Spetember 16, 2023.

Above: Colby Thornhill has shown to be the fastest car in 410/360 sprint car features at Skagit this season, a win in the 360 last week should shake the bad luck monkey from their back. Watch for the #19 up on the fence in both cars this Saturday night.

Above: Jesse Schlotfeldt, by far the fastest car without a win to show for it. If Schlotfeldt continues to maintain the early season speed a wing-dance or two is surely just around the corner.

Above: No win for Colton Heath is necessarilly surprising, but the missile from Marysville is more than capable of an upset. Look no further than August 17, 2024 - while subbing for the injured Justin Youngquist - Heath was able to jump in a 410 sprint car for the first time in nearly a decade and win the feature in a sweep of the program.

Above: Robbie Price was a winner in both 410's and 360's on seperate occasions at Skagit last season, making the Cobble Hill, BC racer a legitimate threat to claim a double if they can just find some of the missing pieces that have eluded them to date in 2025.
