Brent Marks Breaks Through Out West with High Limit Douglas County Victory

The west coast finally belongs to Brent Marks. The Myerstown, PA driver powered the Murray-Marks Motorsports #19 to victory in the Showdown on the River at Douglas County Dirtrack, marking his first career West Coast win and snapping a 16-race dry spell with Kubota High Limit Racing.

From the drop of the green, it looked like Justin Sanders might finally score a long-awaited Douglas County triumph. The California driver launched to the early lead, holding command through the opening six laps while Marks settled in second.

Traffic, however, quickly came into play. On lap 7, Sanders was bottled up by slower cars, and Marks pounced, sliding into the top spot. From there, the “Myerstown Missile” showed his experience — hammering the cushion, slicing through traffic, and fending off challenges on a pair of restarts.

Behind him, Tanner Thorson charged forward, overcoming wing issues to secure his fourth runner-up finish of 2025. The biggest mover of the night was Corey Day, who thrilled the Oregon crowd by charging from 18th to a podium finish in third, earning Hard Charger honors (+15).

Giovanni Scelzi finished fourth in the Clauson-Marshall Racing #7BC, while points leader Brad Sweet rounded out the top five.
