NIGHT 1 – LINCOLN PARK SPEEDWAY | PUTNAMVILLE SHOWDOWN (OCTOBER 17, 2025)

Gravel Survives Late Drama to Win at Putnamville

Putnamville, IN — October 17, 2025
The World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series’ return to Lincoln Park Speedway produced pure short-track chaos as David Gravel survived late contact with championship rival Michael “Buddy” Kofoid to win the Putnamville Showdown.

The high-banked Indiana bullring delivered nonstop action from start to finish. Kofoid surged past Gravel on lap two, pacing much of the race until lap 13 when Gravel capitalized in traffic to reclaim the lead. A late red flag for Brady Bacon’s flip set up a two-lap dash to the finish. On the restart, Kofoid threw a massive slider in turn three, but contact between the two leaders sent Kofoid spinning as Gravel crossed the line first. Officials confirmed Gravel as the winner at the time of the incident.

The victory marked Gravel’s 16th World of Outlaws win of 2025 and 119th of his career, moving him closer to Danny Lasoski for sixth all-time.

Carson Macedo stormed from tenth to second, while Bill Balog earned his ninth podium of the season. Cole Macedoand Garet Williamson rounded out the top five.

“We were racing for the same spot, last lap, last corner for the win,” Gravel said in victory lane. “I didn’t wreck him on purpose. We were wheel-to-wheel, and I felt like I had position down the backstretch. It’s tough racing — you don’t want to win them that way, but that’s short-track racing.”

Abridged Race Call Summary

A thrilling 35-lap feature at Lincoln Park Speedway saw early drama when front-row starter Darin Naida flipped on lap two, triggering a red. Kofoid and Gravel exchanged sliders through traffic before Gravel retook command on lap 13. Heavy lapped traffic, a late red for Brady Bacon, and a last-lap tangle defined the closing sequence — Gravel sliding under Kofoid to reclaim the top spot as contact in turn four decided the finish. Kofoid spun; Gravel crossed the line first to win before the yellow lights flashed.
