Night-by-Night Reports

NIGHT 1 – Friday, October 17, 2025

Dodge City Raceway Park – Dodge City, Kansas

Headline: House Money: Cummins Captures 10th of the Season in USAC Return to Kansas

In the series’ first Dodge City appearance in 14 years, Kyle Cummins powered the Petty Performance Racing/Avanti Windows & Doors – Premier Recycling/Mach-1/Stanton Chevy No. 3P to his 10th victory of the 2025 season, extending his newly-clinched championship lead to 378 points. After briefly losing the top spot to Kevin Thomas Jr., Cummins reclaimed command when Thomas tangled with traffic on lap nine, leading the final 22 laps for his 30th career USAC National Sprint Car victory.

Feature Recap:
Cummins led laps 1–3, Thomas Jr. took over for laps 4–8, and Cummins regained control through the checkered. Behind him, Briggs Danner surged from fifth to second, while Thomas Jr., C.J. Leary, and Chase Stockon completed the top five.

The night marked multiple milestones — Cummins set a new single-season record for most top-10 finishes (42), tied Brady Bacon’s mark of 36 top-fives, and became one of two drivers (with Justin Grant) to reach double-digit wins this year.

Abridged Race Call Summary (FloRacing Broadcast):
Cummins launched from the outside pole to lead the first three laps before KTJ slid by on lap 4. As they raced through traffic, Thomas nearly clipped the 79F of Cooper Sullivan, opening the top lane for Cummins to reclaim the lead on lap 9. From there, he managed lapped traffic flawlessly, holding off a charging Danner to the finish by 0.7 seconds.

Driver Quote – Kyle Cummins (Post-Race Interview, FloRacing):

“It got pretty close there with KTJ in traffic — I don’t know if I want to get any closer than that. Once we got the lead back, it was just about hitting marks and managing lapped cars. Points racing is stressful, so now we can just go for wins, and that’s what we’re doing.”
